CHESTERFIELD -- Although rainfall was frequent last week, the area's primary reservoir is lower than normal. However, because demand has also slackened off, water restrictions may not be needed immediately.

"I'm hoping that for the time being, we're going to hold our own," said James C. Dawson, executive director of the Appomattox River Water Authority. The ARWA oversees the lake sitting between Chesterfield and Dinwiddie.
