COLONIAL HEIGHTS--Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Acting Commissioner Greg Whirley has approved three contracts valued at approximately $1.5 million for Richmond area construction and maintenance.

Denton Concrete Services Company of Saint Clair Shores, Mich., was awarded a $1.3 million contract to patch 21 miles of existing concrete pavement on I-85 north/south in Dinwiddie County. Last year during construction, crews found additional areas needed to be patched. As phase two of the construction, this project will complete turn lanes, loops, ramps, and shoulders work needed. Work is expected to be complete November 2010.
