Upgraded North Elementary Will Help Alleviate Overcrowding

PRINCE GEORGE -- The county School Board approved an elementary school redistricting plan at its meeting last night and heard an update on the construction of the new North Elementary School.

The new school will free up space at the system's elementary schools, many of which are overcrowded, school system officials have said. North Elementary currently has about 270 students, but will have a capacity of about 750 after the new school is built. About 640 students will attend the new school, according to redistricting documents.
