We got a nice rain, 1 7/10 inches. My neighbor one mile from my house got only a few drops and my other friend, about two miles away, got nothing but a heavy dew. Crops look good so far. We can only pray for the best. Remember last year? Who can forget it.

Robert Mayes Jr. was at the museum this week. I sure enjoyed his company. He is one great guy, full of fun, and he is so friendly to everyone. He loves the museum and he loves those Forty Davis hot dogs. He had a blast of a time at the Heritage Festival in April. Robert is a great guy. His dad in Christianburg is coming to see me soon. I know it will be one great day.

A great surprise: Carol Jean Lauder, Judy Mayton and Carol's husband paid me a visit. They had a heyday going over all the old Midway High School annuals and memorabilia. We sure had some laughs on that front porch. I hadn't seen Carol Jean in 45 years, but she is as pretty as ever, and Judy Mayton too. They must have drunk from the fountain of youth.
