PETERSBURG -- The upcoming statewide elections will be the most critical in decades for determining what kind of future Virginians face, according to the chairman of the state Republican Party.

In an address Thursday night at the Republican Party of Petersburg's annual Mahone Dinner, held at Old Towne Catering, state GOP chairman Pat Mullins said this election is "probably the most serious in the last 30 or 40 years."
