Report Awaiting Final Approval in Parachute Jump Training Death From 2010

Summary

FORT LEE - It used to be a common sight - soldiers on parachutes jumping from airplanes and helicopters to Fort Lee's McLaney Drop Zone. But all that has changed following the death of Pvt. Anthony R. Milo a year ago during a training jump.

Milo, a 24-year-old parachute rigger from Colorado Springs, Colo., died near the McLaney Drop Zone on River Road in Prince George County during training on March 4, 2010. Since then, there have been changes to training for parachute riggers, but there has still been no final report issued for the incident.
