A citizens committee studying what should happen to the old Colonial Heights Baptist Church may have hit on an idea that solves two problems at once.

The panel was charged with looking at solutions for the former church. The city bought the church and its 5-acre lot for $3.75 million in October 2005. The Colonial Heights Baptist Church congregation rented the property for 30 months until it moved to its new location in April.
