According to the United Nations, about 1.2 million people around the world are in bondage, about half of them children. Human trafficking for sexual exploitation has been documented in countries rich and poor, including the United States.
In 2006 the U.S. government awarded a five-year, $19 million grant to the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops' Office of Migration and Refugee Services, to help rescued victims.See the full content of this document
