Philip Morris Announces 48-Acre Wetlands at Bermuda Run Plant

CHESTERFIELD -- To much fanfare, Philip Morris USA unveiled plans for a 48-acre man-made wetlands that will lighten their impact on the James River. The No. 1 tobacco company will begin constructing the natural treatment system on land behind its Park 500 facility off of Old Hundred Road within a few weeks.

Gov. Timothy M. Kaine, Del. Riley Ingram, R-62nd, Supervisor R.N. "Dickie" King and Virginia Secretary of Natural Resources L. Preston Bryant Jr. joined company executives in announcing the plans Tuesday.
