For the first half on Friday, the Matoaca football team was in the groove. Starting with the first pass of the game when SaQuan Franklin-Scott caught an interception from Clover Hill quarterback Joel Caleb to put the Warriors on the offensive side of the ball quickly.

"Things were going our way. We were in the groove and then it kind of got away from us there right before the half," said Matoaca coach Pat Manuel.
