Mrs. Martha K. Price, of 1420 Custer St., Petersburg, departed this life Monday night, Oct. 22 at Southside Regional Medical Center, Petersburg. She was a native of Nottoway County and daughter of the late Isaiah and Betty Walker Knight and widow of Benjamin Price. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Doris Miles, eight sisters and one brother. Mrs. Price was a devoted member of Mount Olivet Baptist Church and served faithfully before declining health as a member of the Ladies' Auxiliary, the Ladies' Usher Board and the Mount Olivet Baptist Church Choir. She was a member of the Foster Grandparents and the former Inspirational Choir Mount Olivet.
Surviving are four grandchildren, Gwen Price Johnson of California, Carroll Price of Petersburg, Howard Miles of Hawaii and Joseph Michael Miles of New Jersey; three great-grandchildren, Joey Issac, Lamont Price and Eric Quarles; four great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends -- among the friends, a devoted friend, Mrs. Jean Burrows.See the full content of this document
