Jury Acquits Murder Suspect

PETERSBURG -- One of six men accused of killing 81-year-old Rachel Johnson is free after being acquitted by a jury Friday.

Commonwealth's Attorney Cassandra S. Burns said her office did what it could to prosecute Jamaal Smith, but that it was a tough case to try. The acquittal came at the conclusion of a trial that began Thursday.
