Hopewell's New Police Chief Comes From Richmond

HOPEWELL - Hopewell has a new police chief. The city announced yesterday that John F. Keohane, police major for the Richmond Police Department, will take the position effectively May 1.

The hiring of Keohane, 49, concludes an extensive nationwide search for a new chief that began in February after current Chief Steven Martin submitted his resignation. "Maj. Keohane will be an outstanding addition to the Hopewell community," City Manager Ed Daley said. "He is working hard for a short transition period and to relocate his family to the city of Hopewell."
