ARLINGTON - Fresh out of the Army in 1962, Herbert Coulton agreed to work with the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. He never thought that he would be at the Pentagon one day being honored for his work with the late civil rights leader.

"I was overwhelmed to have been invited to come here," Coulton said Wednesday afternoon at the Pentagon. "It's something you don't ask for, it just comes."
