ETTRICK -- Virginia State guard Michael Askew awoke from his two- game nightmare at the right time. After scoring a combined 10 points against Virginia Union and Fayetteville State, the fifth-year senior scored 17 of his 19 points in the second half as the Trojans rallied past Elizabeth City State 83-76 on Saturday at Daniel Gymnasium.

"I kept my composure and knew I had to take my time," Askew said. "I didn't hang my head when I had two points at halftime and I came out looking for my shots. Those past few games are behind us, so now I can go out and be a leader and a captain."
