PETERSBURG - A business and the Saint Joseph Catholic Church community are looking for new options after a fire led to the destruction of two downtown buildings. The fire early Tuesday morning gutted a largely vacant building and heavily damaged a church auxiliary building.

The blaze might leave West Washington Street near Union Street closed through part of today, as crews are demolishing the structures for public safety and so that fire investigators can work.
