Diamonds Are a Girls' Best Friend

It's been the weather channel getting all the attention so much as whether or not the game will even be played.

However, on Friday, March 20, the calendar actually was right, it was the official day of spring.

Meaning there was no rain and a little bit of rays.

For Central District softball coaches, Thomas Dale's Dennis Jones, Colonial Heights' Antonia Martin and Prince George's Pat Waguespack, they are all ready to get back to the diamond.

At least for now, there will not be any make-ups, sticky fields or precipitation, just good ole high school softball.

"I'm just glad to be able to be back outside. I never like to reschedule when there is wet weather," Martin said. "The girls are ready to go and excited about the new season."

Unlike Thomas Dale, Colonial Heights, Dinwiddie and Prince George were able to get in some of its games despite less than sufficient conditions.
