Mrs. Deborah Lynn James, 43, of 3902 Grovewood Road, Hopewell, departed this life Tuesday morning, Sept. 5, at her residence. She was a native of South Hill and daughter of James Russell and the late Mary Talley Russell. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Destiny. She was a graduate of Parkview high School, South Hill, and she worked as a nursing assistant before declining health.
Surviving are: her husband, Oliver James Jr.; two daughters, Rosheta Gholson and Olivia James; a son, Charles Coleman Jr. (Deidre); five grandchildren; eight sisters, Shirl Jefferson (Vernon), Janet Polhill, Angela, Karen and Heather Russell, Jamie Moten, Kimberly and Latonya Patillo; one brother, Stefan Tanner; a stepmother, Rose Russell; a mother- and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Oliver James Sr.; several uncles and aunts, Luther and Dorothy Talley, Willie and Gladys Talley, Hailey and Sinda Talley, Robert Talley, Larry and Linda Talley, Annie and John White, Julia and Melvin Tisdale and Pearl and David Crute; several nieces, nephews, among them Bonita, Jameka, Demetris and Marquitta Russell and Creonna Coleman; cousins and friends, among them devoted friends were Elnora Howard, Daisy Jones, Barbara Powell, Corey and Tameka Munden.See the full content of this document
