MIDLOTHIAN -- Coming in tied for the Late Model Sportsman series points lead, Chris Dodson knew he had to win the first 50-lap heat of the night, especially since that event was worth double points.

As he has most of the summer, Dodson did what he had to do, winning his sixth Late Model race of the year by leading from green to checkered on Friday night at Southside Speedway. Dodson also has one win in the modified series this summer at Southside.
