Summary


DINWIDDIE -- A Halifax County man who pleaded guilty to failing to renovate a church was sentenced to more than two years in prison yesterday and ordered to pay more than $26,000 in restitution.

William D. Bottoms of Virgilina pleaded guilty in October 2008 to two counts of failure to perform construction and one count of failure to appear. Yesterday, he was sentenced to 10 years for each charge of failure to perform construction. Eight years of each sentence were suspended.
